Hello everyone! My name’s Janine and I just want to share a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in the beautiful central Free State in South Africa, where the horizon is so open you can almost see tomorrow. The Free State is not anyone’s cup of tea, some say it looks dull with mostly grassland, wheat and corn fields and basically no hills…but I love the openness and peace it offers me. I’m sharing this with you because it sums up a bit of who I am. I am an introvert who struggles to open up to new people and I like my solitude where I can recharge myself and plan new creative ideas. There’s nothing like sitting alone in the field and watching a sunrise or -set to just get yourself back on track with life. It is also in the silent moments where we hear God’s voice the loudest.
After school I studied BSc (Hon) Consumer Sciences at North West University, Potchefstroom Campus. I loved studying this because it combined almost all of my interests: Interior Design, Fashion, Food Science, Nutrition and even Tourism. If life could just be as simple as studying what you like and then finding this perfect job as you walk out of University 🙂 Sadly the reality was that I was too confused and scared after my studies to find that perfect job. It’s difficult to apply for jobs when you’re too scared to phone someone.,.blush! A year after Varsity me and André (he was my boyfriend since first year) got married and then our lives changed rapidly. Being the engineer he is, we moved around quite a lot – not that I regret one moment of it, we shared amazing times – and then I decided to complete my PGCE for Foundation Phase teaching. Thus currently I am a teacher and loving everyday I can impart information and love into my kids’ lives!
Although I get fulfillment in my job I still have this creative side to me that just looooves change… to my husbands regret… I keep on changing our house 🙂 Therefore I decided to start this blog and share my inspirations and ideas with whoever wants to hear them! So I hope you will enjoy my posts and ideas just as much I enjoy sharing them with you!
XOXO
